Can anyone recommend a WiDi Adapter to connect a laptop to an HDTV?

Can anyone recommend a WiDi Adapter to connect a laptop to an HDTV? Topic: Reviewer suggestions

Question: I have a Dell XPS12 loaded with Windows 8 Pro. The laptop features Intel's WiDi functionality. I want to connect my laptop to a 50" Toshiba HDTV that we just purchased for our conference room. Dell recommends the Netgear Push2TV adapter for this laptop but I am skeptical of this product. This device got terrible reviews all over the internet and a majority of the reviewers said that they would not recommend this product. So I'm looking for other suggestions. I want something small that I can connect to an HDMI port of the TV and hide it behind the screen. I don't want a device that requires a transmitter to be connected to the laptop. It also needs to be compatible with windows 8. Thanks

Yes I have a Netgear Push2TV Adapter some times I have to reset the adapter before it is found and connects to my WiDI Dell laptop but it does work O/K. But it could be me not using and connecting to it properly as I use it very seldom. Netgear or Belkin make a WiDI wireless display adapter. http://search.incredibar.com/search.php?...

Ideally the DVI to HDMI connection should work better, this is not always the case though it depends on the flexibility of your PC's video card and also the TV how well it is designed to accept a VGA signal, or DVI signal from a computer...some TV's will cut the picture from the VGA signal making information on the bottom or edges hard to see or not there at all...also flicker can also become a problem along with latency between the sound and the picture...some computer DVI connections do not meet the modern protocol for HDMI and may produce a poor signal or no signal or you may have to reconfigure the computer every time you send a signal. to get anything... so theres a lot of variables to take into consideration and its best to try both methods and see what works best for you....It also depends on how particular you are and what you consider a good picture to be...

if your television does not have HDMI and.or element, it fairly is not HD. some HDTVs might have VGA. If S-video is the suitable your television has, then it relatively is an SDTV, and you desire a VGA to television converter container.

Check the manual of the TV. It may support WIDI already. This one does. It is safe to use in this case. Power output is the maximum power that can be drawn from the adapter. Input spec. is the actual amount the appliance draws. (Also, voltage has to be the same) If input requirement > max. output, you will be in trouble.

Absolutely, yes, it'll be fine. Analogy: The wall outlets in your house can supply at least 15 amps (some of them 20 amps). Is it ok to plug in a 100 watt light bulb, which consumes less than an amp? Of course it is. Most power supplies (including every "wall wart" adapter, every battery, the PSU in your computer, and the wall sockets in your house) operate in what's called "constant voltage" mode: They provide a specific voltage, relatively independent of the load, and they can provide *up to* the indicated current, depending on what the load needs. The current in amps will be equal to the voltage divided by the effective resistance of the load. Your supply will not try to ram 1200 mA into your device.
